Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Health Care Worker to join the Dianella team @ Kilmore Distroct Hospital.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires a highly motivated Health Care Worker (HCW) who is an excellent communicator and strives for best practice. The HCW advocates for the rights of residents and is a role model for professional and respectful behaviour. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the HCW role is responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of the complex needs of our resident group to ensure that residents and their families receive optimal access to the appropriate multidisciplinary health team and support services within the community.

This role is responsible for the promotion of a positive organisational culture that supports the Residential Aged Care Nurse Unit Manager to communicate and implement organisational change. The HCW position is a pivotal role within the residential care facility ensuring residents receive optimal care, quality of life and a safe living environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the achievement of excellence in care delivery in line with organisational policies & procedures, best practice and legislative requirements. The HCW is also responsible for ensuring organisational outcomes are in line with departmental and organisational strategic objectives, is a highly motivated and an excellent communicator striving for best nursing practice.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  •   Probity and clearance required prior to commencement including, current Police and working with children check.
  • Experience working in Aged Care
  • Ability to work within a flexible roster system.
  •  Well-developed communication skills and a proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
